Overview

The Pre-Engineering Project Manager will oversee specific aspects of the survey process and Pre-Engineering scheduling for pricing, energy modeling and financial modeling. Management responsibility of project schedules, survey planning, and Pre-Engineering processes.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:


• Managing one or more Pre-Engineering project schedules for Development projects.
• Coordinates with clients, external resources, and internal team members to ensure that the project milestones & deadlines have been accurately documented and communicated to all parties.
• Tracks all incoming project information from internal and external stakeholders; and distributes to survey team leaders, project engineers, designers, and department managers.
• Coordinates with survey team leaders and assists with creating schedules and conducting site surveys to determine existing facility conditions and generate energy conservation projects.
• Develops and continuously tracks metrics to ensure that all Pre-Engineering projects are delivered on time, and on budget.
• Helps develop and establish training for personnel.
• Supports the development, evolution and implementation of the Pre-Engineering resource forecasting processes.• Establishes and delivers a process for frequent tracking and reporting of project status, schedule, and workload.
• Ensures that all communications originated from team members to client representatives, contractors, and outside consultants are properly reviewed and approved.
• Helps manage the project transition process from the Pre-Engineering team to other teams within Bernhard.
• Creates a collaborative workplace for personnel to communicate on projects.
• Attends in-house and external training sessions to obtain knowledge in necessary financial & technical areas related to building systems and Bernhard’s delivery model.
• Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.
• Upholds Bernhard’s owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications


• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or similar technical degree
• 3 to 5 years of industry experience
• Experience with building infrastructure (HVAC, electrical generation, electrical distribution, low- voltage controls, etc.)
• Strong skills in the Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
• Ability to effectively manage time to meet project deadlines
• Passion for quality and client satisfaction
• 3 to 5 years experience with technical project management

 

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications


• Professional Engineering license.
• 6 to 10 years of experience within industry.
• Experience leading Survey Teams and supporting the collaboration with energy modelers, financial modelers, and developers.
• Experience with financial plans and budget objectives.
• Knowledge of the comprehensive business model and energy market dynamics.
• Knowledge of the energy industry and related law, systems, codes and economics.
• Project Management Certification

 

Travel Requirements


• A valid driver’s license is required.
• 10%-25% travel required

 

Physical/Work Environment Requirements


• Able to walk, stand, climb, and kneel on job sites.
• Able to sit or stand at a desk for long periods of times.
• Able to lift up to 15 lbs.
