Overview

The Senior Accountant role includes preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

 

• Coordinate the review, documentation and recording of journal entries
• Complete account reconciliations and resolve any identified discrepancies
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly/quarterly financial statements and reporting packages to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Assist in the development and preparation of presentations to communicate key financial information including historical and forecasted performance, documenting deviations from budget
• Explore and present opportunities to improve and streamline reporting processes
• Participate in the preparation of financial statements and reports for board of directors, auditors, energy projects, and special assignments
• Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical, and comprehensive manner
• Assist Accounting manager and team with a variety of tasks and special projects as requested
• Assist in the coordination of the annual audit

 

This position is Full Time, Exempt and reports to the Director of Consolidation Accounting.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically modeling expertise in Excel and strong PowerPoint presentation experience
• Proficient in accounting software
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative team player
• Comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Ability to work independently and rely on experience and judgement to accomplish goals

 

Preferred Education, Experience, and qualifications:

 

• Master's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
• Experience working in a public accounting firm, or large publicly traded company is preferred
• CMA, MBA, and/or construction/engineering industry experience is a plus

 

Travel Requirements:

 

• Infrequent travel to Company or client locations. Approximately 0-10% of the time will be spent traveling.

 

Physical/Work Environment Requirements


• Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including computer, office equipment, telephone, etc.

• Physical demands are essentially those of sedentary work. Tasks may require extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.

Pay Range

USD $76,860.00 - USD $102,620.00 /Yr.
