Overview

The Vice President of Engineering is responsible for leading, delegating, and supporting the development of practices, procedures, and systems to support a continuously improving and profitable engineering organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee design, modification, and improvement of company engineering projects and services; directs the design of testing and maintenance processes, and ensure quality control.
  • Delegates and empowers engineering directors and project managers in formulating effective business plans, financial analytics, and client communications.
  • Establishes budget controls, coordinates project and process changes to maintain and improve cost/benefit ratio.
  • Reviews engineering designs in light of the organizations strategic goals, performance objectives.
  • Coordinates the development of efficient organizational structure, including the development of knowledge, skills and abilities; and establishes a succession plan to facilitate a steady and efficient organizational growth and efficiency.
  • Administrative Duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.
  • 7+ years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Versed in the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) Certification.
  • Professional Engineer License.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Climbing stairs.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Quiet environment.
  • Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • 30% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Pay Range

USD $178,000.00 - USD $250,000.00 /Yr.
